OWNER - Rocky - The most amazing woman you will ever meet. Opened her shop in the heart of downtown New Orleans in the fall of 2004. She came to New Orleans in 1996 where she was stationed for the US Marines. Fell in love with the city and met her husband, a fellow Marine. Rocky, now a Lt. Col. is also a Charter member of the All Womens Mardi Gras Super Krewe Muses. She can glitter shoes & carry a 100lb pack across the desert. She designs and sews costumes for the store in her spare time while currently serving our country. We love and miss her at the shop but appreciate all she does for us and this nation!
MANAGER - Amy - Amy moved to New Orleans in 1993 with her soon to be husband. The Crescent City took hold of her heart and it quickly became her true home. She studied with the Professional Theater Training Program in the early 1990's at UW - Milwaukee in the Costume Department. There she learned invaluable skills to add to her already lifetime of experience with needle and thread. She jokes that she could sew before she could read. Raised by a small business woman she has always worked for small women owned businesses. Many years were spent at Baltazor Fabrics, a generations old New Orleans family business. As the Captain of our ship she leads us in the ever evolving retail adventure. She has worked at the shop since Halloween 2007 and has been the Manager since November of 2009.
SATURDAY MANAGER - Misty - Misty is our Saturday Manager. She began working for us in January of 2010.
SALES - Kevin - Kevin grew up on a farm in Northwest Ohio. Throughout his adolescence he raised pigs, conducted science experiments, and made fireworks in his Mom's basement. After graduating from Ohio State University with a degree in Anthropology and History, Kevin moved to New Orleans in pursuit of true love and freedom following a brief stint in field archaeology. He quickly found his niche at New Orleans Party and Costume where he channels his overactive imagination and creativity into unique costume ideas. His ability to fix any appliance by tinkering with it until it works, along with his lively and colorful nature contribute to the character and day to day functioning of the store.
SALES - Judith - A born and raised New Orleanian joined us at Halloween 2011. She is our Web Mistress. Judith was taught to sew by her Grandmother and Mother. She studied all aspects of the theatre and chose to persue costuming and fashion history for her career. Judith is well versed in the popular fashions of the mid 20th century including hair and make-up. She has spend her whole life devoted to early film and classic country music, which she pulls more than an abudance of inspiration from. By choice Judith applies the vintage aesthetics to her every day life.
STAFF - Our staff is made up of New Orleanians both born here and those who came here and made it their home. They each have talents that help us to provide the best customer service possible. They have decades of combined experience in various areas of all that our store has to offer. We pride ourselves in giving each customer a positive experience. It's a party store - it's a costume shop and it's a fun place to visit with fun loving people to assist you.
